Orson Scott Card è uno scrittore statunitense di fantascienza e fantasy. Ha vissuto in California, in Arizona, e nello Utah. Ha scritto opere di numerosi generi, ma è conosciuto principalmente per i romanzi del ciclo di Ender ed in particolare per i primi due Il gioco di Ender (1985) e Il riscatto di Ender (1986). Vincendo con entrambi questi romanzi sia il Premio Nebula sia il Premio Hugo, lo scrittore ha stabilito un primato unico.È autore anche di alcune sceneggiature per fumetti pubblicati dalla Marvel Comics. Ha collaborato alla realizzazione del videogioco The Secret of Monkey Island.
